Ossett Civic Society
Ossett Civic Society is saddened to hear of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with her family at this time.
Welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Ossett Civic Society website.
Ossett Civic Society (previously known as Ossett Civic Trust) is a voluntary organisation that is run by a group of enthusiastic members of the community.
Our main aims are...
To encourage high standards of architecture and town planning in the township of Ossett;
To stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of the town and its surroundings;
To encourage the preservation, development and improvement of features of general public amenity or historic interest; and
To pursue these ends by means of meetings, exhibitions, lectures and promotions of schemes of a charitable nature.
We are pleased to announce that after a tumultuous 18 months, Ossett Civic Society has started to meet again face to face with a new team of officers. We would like to thank the previous team for their dedication, hard work and ambitions for Ossett during such unprecedented and challenging times. We are hopeful that we will be able to set to with new projects and ideas which will raise the profile of the Society and attract new members so that we can make a positive difference in Ossett, a town that we all love.
